FLAMES LIGHT UP SKY IN KAPALAMA
Police swarmed Kapalama this morning after spotting flames and smoke shooting into the sky. It's the same sight that I saw on my drive into work. I started shooting the scene while getting gas across the street on Dillingham Boulevard. Ramsay is gathering details about what happened. So far, we've learned it was a pallet fire behind the Kapalama Shopping Center. More details ahead on Sunrise.
SALT LAKE BOMB SCARE
Another overnight story involves a "suspicious package" found hanging on the fence by the HECO substation. Police shut down Salt Lake Boulevard near Radford High School from 1 until 3:20 this morning to investigate the bomb scare. Turns out it was a teacher's bag.
EWA BEACH TODDLER MURDER
Police have opened a murder investigation into the death of a 14 month old Ewa Beach toddler. The Medical Examiner's office concluded that the boy died from abusive blows to the head.
KUHIO HIGHWAY PROBLEMS
More problems to report on Kauai following the severe weather that swamped the Garden Isle on Sunday. The one and only highway through Kilauea was down to one-lane yesterday after a drainage ditch running under the road partially collapsed. No word on how long the repairs will last.
WEATHER NOW: TRADES PICK UP
