SALT LAKE (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police shut down Salt Lake Boulevard near Radford High School early Wednesday morning after a bomb scare near the Hawaiian Electric Company substation.
According to police, someone reported seeing a suspicious package near the electrical facility at about 1 a.m.
The bomb squad was called out because it was near such a sensitive site.
Salt Lake Boulevard, Bougainville Drive and Lawehana Street were closed as crews investigated.
HPD reopened the roads at about 3:20 a.m. after it was determined the bag belonged to a teacher and had been hung on the fence for some reason.
