UH Sophomore Places At WAC Indoor Championships

NAMPA, Idaho (HawaiiNewsNow) – UH Sophomore Kaleigh Morrison placed fifth in the pentathlon while competing at the 2012 Western Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in Idaho.

Morrison scored 3,298 points across five events during the competition at Jackson's Track in the Idaho Sports Complex, good enough for fifth place. She placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.34), tied for second in the high jump (5-5/1.65m), 10th in the shot put (30-8.25/9.35m), eighth in the long jump (17-2/5.23m), and 11th in the 800-meter run (2:41.73).

UH's Amanda Alvarez also competed in the pentathlon, finishing in 11th place with 2,971 points.

The championship meet is scheduled to continue into the weekend.
