Seinfeld actor attempts suicide at Cincinnati apartment complex

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

An actor who played on Seinfeld is fighting for his life after attempting suicide.

TMZ is reporting that Daniel von Bargen shot himself in the head Monday morning inside of a Cincinnati apartment complex.

Von Bargen, 61, was transported to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical condition.

FOX19 has obtained the 911 call, Von Bargen tells the dispatcher "I was supposed to go to the hospital and I didn't want to."

The call is attached but you should listen at your own discretion since it is very graphic.

According to information Von Bargen told the dispatcher, he was supposed to have some toes amputated.

He is best known for his role as Mr. Kruger on Seinfeld and Mr. Grady in Super Troopers.

Von Bargen is also known for his roles in "Malcolm in the Middle" and "The West Wing."
