ROAD CLOSURE & POWER OUTAGES IN MANOA

UH students could run into trouble on the way to campus this morning. University Avenue between Kaala Street and Maile Way is closed due to a car crash into a power pole. That accident just before 11 last night knocked out power to 1-thousand Manoa customers. HECO is hoping to complete repairs by 9 am, the tail end of our morning commute. We'll have team coverage on Sunrise with Ramsay Wharton live from Manoa and the latest traffic updates from Dan Cooke.

MARINE COURT MARTIAL

Happening today, a court martial is scheduled to begin in Kaneohe for a third Hawaii Marine accused of hazing a fellow Marine who later committed suicide in Afghanistan. Lance Corporal Carlos Orozco the Third is accused of putting his foot on Lance Corporal Harry Lew's back, pouring sand on his face, and ordering him to do pushups.

WASTEWATER SPILL WARNINGS

Warning signs are up after a couple of waste water spills. One's at Mamala Bay near the reef runway.

Nearly 70-thousand gallons of waste leaked about a mile and a half from shore. The second is near Keehi Lagoon and Sand Island Park. Officials say a pipe owned by the Army cracked, spilling 15-thousand gallons of wastewater Sunday.

DISNEYLAND PEPPER SPRAY

A Disneyland visitor got unruly and ended up being pepper sprayed. See why this video is trending online this morning on Sunrise.

FAT TUESDAY

Plus, it's a day of indulgence. It wouldn't be Fat Tuesday without Malasadas in Hawaii. Hmmm. A tough test for our Sunrise Slimdown!

See you on Sunrise!

Aloha,
