Recipe from Judy of Ala.
2 cups of macaroni
1 stick butter or margarine
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
1/8 tsp paprika (optional)
2 and 1/2 cups of milk
2 cups (8oz) of cheddar cheese
1 cup of breadcrumbs
Heat your oven to 375 degrees. Cook and drain the macaroni according to the package directions. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Blend the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika into the pan. Gradually stir in milk after adding these ingredients. While cooking, constantly stir the mixture until the sauce thickens. Add in the cheese; stir until the cheese is melted. Place the hot macaroni in a 2 quart casserole dish; stir in the cheese sauce mixture. Top the dish with the breadcrumbs. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes or until browned. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
