Charter boat captain found dead in waters off Lanai

LANAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Maui police are still investigating a mysterious boat death off the coast of Lanai.

Hawaii News Now has learned the 45-year-old man, who went overboard Thursday morning, was the captain of a Maui charter fishing boat called, "No Problem."

Sources say he had passengers on board when he fell off his own boat. Search teams recovered his body several hours later.

Maui police say they are not sure how or why he ended up in the water, but they aren't ruling out suicide.
