HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Kaneohe Marine accused of beating a 48-year-old man into a coma was indicted Tuesday with attempted murder.
Police say Lance Cpl. Brandon L. Calhoun, 22, and the victim were arguing in Waikiki on Feb. 8 when the argument escalated. Calhoun punched the victim several times and also struck him with a chair. The victim suffered cuts and fractures to his face and skull and underwent surgery Wednesday.
He remains in a coma in critical condition.
Calhoun is now in custody at the Oahu Community Correctional Center, unable to post his $200,000 bail.
