Man arrested in HPD standoff

MAILI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police arrested a 26-year-old man following a four-hour standoff in Maili on Tuesday.

According to officials, the incident happened at about 12:15 p.m. when the man and a 24-year-old woman were reportedly arguing. The woman then left the scene.

When police arrived to the suspect's home, he showed them what appeared to be a handgun and ran back into his house.

Police say at about 4 p.m., the man finally came out of the home.

He was arrested for criminal property damage and warrant charges.

Officials say his weapon turned out to be an air soft gun.
