MAPUNAPUNA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Three weeks after throwing his hat into the race for Honolulu mayor, former Governor Ben Cayetano opened the doors to his headquarters Sunday.
The 72-year old joined supporters at a blessing in Mapunapuna.
Cayetano hasn't done much campaigning yet, but with 28 years of political experience, including eight as governor, he's looking forward to working with his volunteers to get his message across.
"Elections are always a question of timing. You don't shoot too quick. You make sure that you have your army organized, and then when you go, you go, and you go hard.
Cayetano says he has started to fundraise, but believes he'll be easily outspent by the opposition.
A side note, though: he's won all eight elections that he's entered.
