Kailua-Kona Evacuations, Wet & Windy Weather, Officer Davis Remembered

BRUSH FIRE THREATENS BIG ISLAND HOMES

Strong winds are fueling a raging brush fire burning dangerously close to a subdivision in Kailua Kona. Residents in the Pines 1 subdivision have evacuated and police have closed a portion of Route 19 as firefighters try to gain the upper hand on the fast-moving flames.  We'll have the latest tonight at 5. WET & WINDY TUESDAY...PLUS BIG SURF
Our Tuesday started off wet and windy for some parts of the state.  On Oahu, the whipping winds snapped a utility pole in half and 2 people were seriously injured by a fallen tree branch at the International Marketplace in Waikiki. Guy Hagi warns of dangerous surf that could bring some damage to coastal areas.  Tune in for his forecast tonight at 5 & 5:30.
ALOHA, OFFICER DAVIS
  There were tears, hugs and a salute today for fallen HPD officer Garret Davis.  Members of the Honolulu Police Department gathered in downtown for a memorial service. Hear from some of Davis' colleagues as they share their memories.
HEALTH DEPARTMENT OPPOSES DOGS AT RESTAURANTS BILL
 A bill being considered by lawmakers would allow dog owners to bring their four-legged friends to local restaurants. While Governor Abercrombie is reportedly in favor of it, the Health Department says it's unsanitary.
