DEADLY EARTHQUAKE HITS THE PHILIPPINES

We're following breaking news. A powerful 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit the Philippines. At least 13 people were killed and as many as 40 are believed missing. Rescuers are trying to dig out dozens more trapped under collapsed homes. Food and medicine are waiting to be delivered to those who in need, but the aid can't reach villages because of damaged roads and bridges. Look for the latest on Sunrise.

DETAILS ON H-1 FREEWAY FATALITY

New details are coming in on last night's deadly crash on the H-1 freeway near the Makakilo off ramp. Police say a driver in a truck tried to overtake another car in the shoulder lane, veered across the freeway and hit a car in the far right lane. The car hit the guard rail then both vehicles crossed the freeway and hit the center median. The Kapolei man driving the truck died at the scene while the couple in the other car were taken to the hospital in serious condition.
