HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Gas prices rose throughout most of Hawaii over the last week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.
The statewide average for regular unleaded on Friday is $4.15 a gallon, five cents more than a week ago.
Honolulu's average price rose five cents over the past week to $4.00 a gallon. That price is 18 cents more than a month ago and 40 cents higher than this time last year.
In Hilo, the average gas price is $4.31 a gallon, also up five cents from last week, 10 cents more than last month and 57 cents higher than this time last year.
Wailuku's average is $4.40 a gallon, unchanged from last week, seven cents more than last month and 39 cents higher than on this date last year.
Hawaii continues to have the highest gas prices in the U.S., followed by Alaska with a $3.88 state average and California at $3.76.
