HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Yesterday Dan Cooke shared that Honda gave us a taste of its upcoming weekend ad magic with Matthew Broderick, one that will cost around $3.5 million for a mere 30 seconds of airtime. Which is probably why they put the 2 minute, 25 second video on YouTube - "Matthew's Day Off" Extended Version. Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno will also star in a Super Bowl commercial - "Transactions" Extended Version.

A huge shakeup at Fox's The X Factor - former Hawaii resident Nicole Scherzinger will not be back for a second season. Fellow judge Paula Abdul and host Steve Jones are also reportedly out. Sources near the show confirm all three stars will not return for X Factor's second season next fall, though Fox has only officially acknowledged the departure of Jones and Scherzinger. The departures will leave Cowell and record producer L.A. Reid, both judges on the show, as the only returning on-air talent. E! News quoted a source close to Scherzinger claiming it was the singer's idea to leave the show: "She wants to focus on her music career. She's spoken to Simon (Cowell) and he's given her his blessing."

There's word of a new lawsuit filed against Newt Gingrich's campaign for using "Eye of the Tiger," the Grammy-winning song from Rocky III. The new lawsuit was filed in Illinois federal court on behalf of Rude Music Inc., owned by Frank Sullivan, a co-author of the song. The complaint says that Gingrich has used the song without authorization at various conferences and campaign rallies. The plaintiff claims this is a violation of the song's copyright and demands an injunction to put a stop to Gingrich's choice of entrance music.
