HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two men were injured Sunday in a parasailing accident off Kewalo Basin.
According to the Honolulu Fire Department, the two were on a tandem parasail towed by a vessel belonging to X-treme Parasail just before noon. As they were being reeled back in, authorities said something came loose. The two ended up in the water and were dragged for about a thousand feet.
Once they were brought aboard, a 51-year-old man was responsive, while the other, a 65-year-old, was unconscious and taken to the hospital in critical condition. The younger man was reported in stable condition.
Authorities said the two were tourists from Palm Springs, California.
