Man dies in Kekaulike Highway fatal crash

KULA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Police suspect speed and alcohol played a role in a deadly crash in upcountry Maui.

Investigators say around 12:20 Saturday morning, Cody Endo was driving his lifted truck on Kekaulike Highway in Kula when he lost control and hit a guard rail.

The truck slid across Crater Road intersection, then rolled over and landed on its roof in the backyard of a home.

Endo later died at the hospital.

According to authorities, the 20-year old was not wearing his seatbelt.

This is the second fatal crash on the Valley Isle in less than a week.
