HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaiian Electric Company says it appears that the weather left a number of Oahu communities in the dark Thursday Night.
HECO says there were outages in Aiea, Kalihi, Hawaii Kai and Kaneohe.
Hawaiian Electric says strong winds left about 1,300 customers without power from 7:30 until 9:30 p.m. in Aiea.
It is not known how many customers were affected in the Kalihi outage which started around 9:15 p.m. and ended around 10:15 p.m.
HECO says the Kalihi outage was also wind related.
Power was out for parts of Kaneohe for more than two hours from 9:15 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.
On the east side of Oahu there were two outages. Lights were out in Hawaii Kai from 10 p.m. until 11p.m. and an area of Hahaione Valley lost power from 9 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. HECO blames underground lines for that outage.
