Man dead after early-morning Waikiki stabbing

WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 39-year-old man is in custody after a fatal stabbing near Queen's Beach in Waikiki.

According to Honolulu Police, the incident happened at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Investigators said a 20-year-old man was walking with some friends near the beach when they stole a bag and ran back to their car. When the owner of the bag confronted the group, the decedent punched the man, who then stabbed the decedent and one of his friends.

The decedent was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other man who was stabbed was treated and released.

Police arrested Michiosy Michiuo several blocks away from the scene. He was booked on a charge of attempted murder.
