HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow)- Hundreds gathered Monday morning at Kapiolani Park to participate in the 24th Annual MLK Celebration Parade and Rally, in commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The parade began at Magic Island at 9 a.m. and traveled down Kalakaua Avenue to its ending point at Kapiolani Park.
The post-parade gathering at the park's "Unity Celebration" included food booths and entertainment from the park's pavilion.
"Sun is shining, good music and every nationality together, all brothers and sisters," said President of the Martin Luther King Coalition-Hawai'i, Thericia Anthonie, as she marveled at the event's successful turnout.
The parade and festival is organized every year to serve as a reminder and to celebrate Dr. King's vision of all people coming together as equals.
