Police searching for man who damaged psychiatric facility

EWA BEACH & WAIPAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are looking for a man who damaged a door and window at the Kahi Mohala Behavioral Health Center on Old Fort Weaver Road.

According to police, the incident happened just after 5 a.m. Thursday.

The man was last seen on foot heading down Farrington Highway towards Waipahu.

According to police, the man voluntarily sought treatment at the facility. Police say he has a prior history of resisting arrest, however, there is no reason to believe he's a danger to the community at this time.

Police say the man is in his 30s. He is 6'1" and weighs about 260 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt, with bandages on his legs and foot.

Kahi Mohala Behavioral Health Center officials declined comment.
