KAILUA-KONA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Big Island police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect in a Jan. 5 robbery.
According to officials, it happened just after 8 p.m. at a business located within the Kaloko Business Center V on Kamanu Street.
Police say the suspect entered the business and approached the 63-year-old female clerk. He then rushed behind the cashier's stand and grabbed a pair of scissors from the countertop.
The suspect then opened the cash register and removed an unknown amount of money.
Officials say he then fled on Kamanu Street in the north-bound direction.
The woman was not injured in the robbery.
The suspect is believed to be in his late 20s to early 30s. He is about 5'10" and 180 pounds with a dark complexion, full-groomed beard without a mustache and short black hair.
He was last seen wearing jeans, a white T-shirt, a black baseball cap and a large gold watch on his left wrist.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police.
