(HawaiiNewsNow) - Walmart is making an effort to hire US military veterans. Jennifer Frick is Managing Human Resources Manager at Walmart. Ozzy Ellis is an Assistant Manager and former 1st Sergeant at the Installation Operation Center at Wheeler Army Airfield.
Walmart has been partnering with the US Chamber of Commerce to support the Hiring Our Heroes Campaign. Walmart has partnered with more than 100 job fairs, including the ones coming up on January 18. Walmart also started a web site called walmartcareerswithamission.com and it allows veterans to go on to the site and match up their talents that they've learned in the military with the talents that are required for jobs.
Walmart with be doing some interviews on sight at the job fair. Walmart is looking to hire 300 employees for its Kapolei location opening this spring. The Pearl City store is being remodeled and about 70 associates positions are available there.
