HALEIWA (HawaiiNewsNow) - A surfer is recovering a the Queen's Medical Center following a big wipe out on Oahu's North Shore on Thursday.
Hundreds of people have been flocking to the North Shore to take advantage of the big swells.
According to fire officials, bystanders noticed a board adrift near the shoreline of Pipeline.
They found the surfer underwater, still attached to the board.
Hospital officials describe the man's condition as stable, but he remains in the Intensive Care Unit.
Another surfer said he believed the man was from Miami, Florida.
