Officials rescue swimmer at Waimea Bay

HALEIWA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Lifeguards and Ocean Safety officials rescued a swimmer who was reported to be in distress at Waimea Bay Wednesday morning.

The incident was reported just after 8:30 a.m. The swimmer was reportedly rescued at about 9 a.m.

A High Surf Warning is in effect for all north and west facing shores across the state.

Surf heights for Oahu's North Shore will peak between 25 to 35 feet on Wednesday.
