HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The National Weather Service has downgraded the High Surf Warning to a High Surf Advisory.
As a result, north and west facing shores have dropped below 20 feet, but are still consistently bigger than 15 feet.
Forecasters say North facing shores will lower to 12 to 20 feet today. West facing shores will lower to eight to 12 feet Thursday.
The High Surf Advisory will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Friday.
Residents and visitors are urged to avoid entering the water and are advised to stay well away from the shoreline due to dangerous wave action and potential for strong rip currents.
