High Surf Advisory in effect for north, west facing shores

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A High Surf Advisory remains in effect until Monday at 6 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, surf heights are expected to be between 12 and 16 feet for the west facing shores of Niihau, Kauai and Oahu, and the north facing shores of Molokai and Maui.

The NWS says large breaking waves and dangerous rip currents are expected in the area.

Beachgoers are advised to stay out of ocean and well away from the shore break.
