MOANALUA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii will soon have not one, but two, trauma centers on Oahu.

Tripler Army Medical Center has agreed to treat non-military, low-level trauma patients.

The expansion will cover civilians in west Oahu and allow the island's other trauma center, the Queen's Medical Center, to focus on more serious cases.

The public can expect the change to happen some time in 2012.
