Missing boater arrives safely on Big Island

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A boater who disappeared for two weeks during a voyage from Kauai to Oahu has been found alive. According to the Coast Guard, Ira Foreman contacted his ex-wife via cell phone on Saturday night and told her he had been blown off course by strong winds.

He arrived safely at Honokohau Harbor on the Big Island in his 36-foot sailboat on Sunday afternoon.

The Coast Guard suspended a four-day search for Foreman on Thursday.
