Waipahu vehicle crash leaves lines down, power out

WAIPAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A number of lines are down in Waipahu following an early morning vehicle crash in Waipahu.

According to police, a man was driving his white pick-up truck when he slammed into a pole at 94-145 Leokane Street at around 2:44 a.m.

Police believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Officials say the pole snapped, leaving a number of lines dangling.

Power is out in the area, and the Hawaiian Electric Company is on scene trying to fix the problem.

The driver is reportedly in good condition.
