Update: Man upgraded to good condition following Waipahu stabbing

WAIPAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Emergency officials say a 55-year-old man was taken to the Queen's Medical Center in serious condition after being stabbed early Tuesday morning.

According to officials, the incident happened on Apowale Street in Waipahu at around 3 a.m.

Neighbors say the incident occurred at a private care home.

Police arrested 44-year-old Jonathan Loranal, Jr. just before 3:30 a.m. for second-degree attempted murder.

Officials say Loranal is a resident of the private care home.

The victim, who works as a caregiver at the home, was later upgraded to good condition.
