HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii gas prices drop for the ninth straight week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.
The statewide average for regular unleaded is $4.06 a gallon, two cents less than a week ago.
Honolulu's average price declined over the past week by a penny from $3.93 to $3.92 a gallon. That price is nine cents less than a month ago and 47 cents higher than this time last year.
In Hilo, the average gas price is $4.20 a gallon, six cents less than last week, eight cents less than last month and 59 cents higher than this time last year.
Wailuku's average is $4.38 a gallon, unchanged from last week, a nickel less than last month and 38 cents higher than on this date last year.
Hawaii continues to have the most expensive gas in the U.S. at $4.06 a gallon, followed by Alaska with a $3.94 state average and California at $3.57.
The national retail average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline is $3.25, four cents less than last week.
