KALIHI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Authorities are investigating a second arson fire at a Kalihi store in just two weeks. Firefighters rushed to Savers on Dillingham Avenue around 4:45 p.m. on Sunday. By the time they arrived, workers had already put out the flames. Investigators said someone deliberately set fire to clothing inside the women's section of the store, forcing shoppers to evacuate.
"I just smelled smoke like something was burning, then all of a sudden I heard the announcement to get out of the store as soon as possible so we left," said shopper Suzette Kahana.
Last month's blaze scorched a rack of clothing in the kids section. That fire caused several hundred dollars worth of damage to used clothes.
