HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Wahine came up short Friday night against the top ranked Trojans of USC.
USC beat Hawaii 3-2 in the NCAA volleyball regional semifinal. USC entered the match ranked No. 1 in the AVCA coaching poll, Hawaii is No. 3.
Jane Croson had 25 kills for the tenth-seeded Wahine in the 25-19, 29-27, 25-19, 25-23, 15- 12 /lose.
Kanani Danielson added 21 kills and Chanteal Satele had 12 kills. The Wahine played to a sold out crowd, the first at the Stan Sheriff Center since 2003.
USC will face Pepperdine on Saturday night at the Stan Sheriff Center. The winner will head to San Antonio, Texas and an appearance in the NCAA final four.
Despite big games from Jane Croson (25 kills, 23 digs) and Kanani Danielson (21 kills, 23 digs) UH (31-2) couldn't find a way to advance to the NCAA regional semi-finals on their own home court.
Senior outside hitters Danielson, Chanteal Satele, and libero Alex Griffith saw their careers come to an end.
