Mayor signs 'homeless' bill, huge surf pounds the North Shore, Maui residents making history

Happy Aloha Friday … here's what were working on tonight for 5 and 5:30 on Hawaii News Now ... The Mayor signs into law a new – albeit controversial -- city ordinance. Some say the new law targets the homeless, while others contend it helps keep Honolulu clean. Tim Sakahara will has been covering this for us and will have more on the new Oahu law tonight.

Also, huge surf is still pounding the North Shore ... Guy Hagi will have the latest on that, plus tell us how our weekend is shaping up. And Guy will be in Waikiki tonight as runners "load up" for this Sunday's Honolulu Marathon. Stay tuned for that.

And, two Maui residents make their debut tonight on the History Channel. What's their new show about? More on that when you join Teri Okita and me. See you at 5 on KGMB and KHNL.

Aloha,Shawn Ching
