Announcement expected regarding Coach McMackin's future with UH

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An announcement is expected between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on whether coach Greg McMackin will continue to lead the University of Hawaii Warriors.

Sources tell Hawaii News Now that there will be a meeting Monday afternoon on the Manoa campus to discuss McMackin's future. Coach McMackin will also meet with his players and coaches about the future of the program.

After the team's awards banquet on Sunday night, Coach McMackin met for more than an hour with the UH Manoa Chancellor and athletic director Jim Donovan.

Coach McMackin is wrapping up a disappointing season with a record of six wins and seven losses.

He's on the last year of his $1.1 million contract.

On Monday morning, the UH Warrior football team met on campus, however, McMackin was not present.
