(HawaiiNewsNow) - The Warriors, with their year-end awards banquet tonight with some notable awards.  Bryant  Moniz wins the Alec Waterhouse most valuable player award, Corey Paredes the Ben Yee Most Inspirational Player Award, Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award goes to Aaron Brown and Royce Pollard gets it for Most Outstanding Offensive Player.

While the festivities tonight were a celebration of the team with the onset of the offseason, questions arise. Namely, will Coach Mack be back for the final year of his contract.

Mack, telling me he wants to coach next year, saying  " family and I made a 5-year commitment to the University of Hawaii, and we plan on honoring that commitment".

In the meantime, the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl has it's matchup.  It'll be Nevada representing the WAC and Conference USA  Champions Southern Mississippi.  This will be the Wolfpack's 3rd appearance in the Hawaii Bowl, and the first for the Eagles.

The longest tenured coach in the WAC received his pink slip today. Fresno State fired Pat Hill after 15-seasons with the school.  Hill elevated FSU as one of the top mid-major programs in the nation.  He led them to 11-bowl games.
