LIKE CRAZY is from 28 year old writer-director Drake Doremus who lived out the dreams of many young people when he made this honest and touching film for just 250,000 dollars and then saw it win the Grand Prize at the Sundance Film Festival
The movie tells the story of two young people who fall in love during their last semester in college in Los Angeles.
Anna, played by Felicity Jones is from London, and because she's so in love, she overstays her student visa to spend the summer with Jacob, who's played by Anton Yelchin.

But LIKE CRAZY is no typical Hollywood romance. Instead, all of the dialogue is improvised. Sometimes it took fifteen takes to get it right, but the actors did a great job of keeping things real. (Jones also won the "best actress" award at Sundance.

Unfortunately, overstaying her visa means that after Anna goes home to London, she is blocked from coming back into the United States. And the two lovers are forced into a long distance relationship with all the problems and heartache that separation creates.

The outcome of LIKE CRAZY isn't as important as the honest emotions the characters reveal as they come to terms with the situation they find themselves in, so that coming out of LIKE CRAZY, I felt satisfied, because this film shows what love is really like.

MY WEEK WITH MARILYN is based on the true story of a production assistant who became infatuated with Marilyn Monroe in 1956 when she went to England to film THE PRINCE AND THE SHOWGIRL with Sir Laurence Olivier.

Michelle Williams in a wonderful actress who does a terrific job at summoning up the spirit of the legendary movie icon.
And as far as it goes, this is a fascinating glimpse into the loneliness and insecurity that led to Marilyn's suicide a few years later.
