911 tapes released from fatal H-2 crash

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The emergency recordings from the Nov. 19 fatal, wrong-way crash on the H-2 freeway have been released.

The recordings indicate that several people called 911, first reporting that the driver was traveling the wrong way on the freeway, then reporting a violent head-on crash.

Officials say 40-year-old Lance Miyashiro, of Wahiawa, was killed in the crash.

The driver who was traveling the wrong way was identified as 21-year-old Jameson Yong of Waianae.

Yong remains in critical condition at the Queen's Medical Center Intensive Care Unit.
