HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - American Airlines passengers are in Hawaii Thursday morning after powerful winds delayed their flight out of Los Angeles.
The plane landed in Honolulu at about 12:30 a.m., four hours later than planned.
The Los Angeles International Airport was without power, leaving many passengers stranded.
Wind gusts were measured at up to 50 miles per hour at the airport, and up to 80 miles per hour in other areas.
According to officials, 250,000 people lost power. It's all part of a Santa Ana storm that will be around for the next two days with dangerous winds warnings up across southern California.
