LAIE (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu Fire crews battled a brush fire that burned one to two acres in the mountains above Laie Sunday.
According to Honolulu Fire Capt. Rick Karasaki, the slow-moving fire was first reported at 6:49 a.m. The fire was burning mainly pine trees in the area. A fire crew hiked in to battle the flames, and was assisted with water drops from the department's Air One helicopter.
The fire department said the fire was under control, but would require a few hours to extinguish.
There are no homes in the area of the fire.
