Car plunges 200 feet off Maui cliff

KEANAE (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man is in the hospital after his car went off a cliff Saturday night. Maui fire crews were called to the Keanae area at mile marker 18 just after 7:00 p.m. There they found a vehicle about 200 feet down a cliff. The vehicle landed in a stream bed, but because of heavy rains in the area, the water level in the stream was rising. It took crews almost an hour to reach the victim. The man in his 30s was lifted to safety at about 11:45 p.m. with head trauma and lacerations to his face and body.
