HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Customers were caught rushing into the Macy's at Ala Moana Center as soon as the doors opened at midnight Friday.

Shoppers wasted no time to find good deals on all four levels of the department store.

According to Macy's, it is the first time the store has opened so early on Black Friday. Macy's says they're excited about the great turnout.

"I think it's a good sign of the holiday season. I think people have been wanting to get out and get shopping and I think value, especially when it's quality and fashion that delivers value as well, really brings the customers out," Macy's District Vice President Deena Nichols said. "So, there are many stores in the mall in all of the mall open at the same time. We really don't know what to expect, but we are very pleased."

According to Nichols, many of Friday's sales will go on until 1 p.m.
