Traffic Alert, Departing Dignitaries, Obama Fundraiser

A word of warning to drivers. Motorcades for departing dignitaries will lead to more road closures this morning. The City and County of Honolulu says to anticipate rolling road closures sometime between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Our APEC team coverage continues this morning. Taizo will watch for traffic effects and I'll be on lookout on the roads for motorcades on the move. You'll be the first to know on air and online.

Also happening this morning, President Barack Obama will shift from APEC to campaigning. He's holding a fundraiser today at Disney's Aulani resort. Ramsay Wharton will bring us live reports.

Meanwhile, First Lady Michelle Obama will speak at a job fair at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and a service project she launched in 2009 will bring out the stars. The cast of CBS' "Hawaii Five-0" will be lending a hand off-screen to military school kids at Pearl Harbor. Actors Alex O'Loughlin, Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim and Masi Oka will team up with Hawaii sports stars Laird Hamilton and Gabrielle Reece to plant a garden. It's part of the Mission Serve initiative launched by Michelle Obama. We'll catch up with the VIP volunteers and have a full report tonight on Hawaii News Now.

As far as the weather goes, look for drier trade wind weather across the state starting today. Showers will be limited to a few windward and mauka areas until mid-week. That's when winds are expected to pick up and we'll see a chance for heavier rain.
