Flash Flood Watch, Airport Update, APEC Countdown

We're waking up to drier weather on this Aloha Friday, but a flash flood watch is in effect for all of the Hawaiian Islands through the end of the day. Will it be a wet weekend? Lihue Airport was closed for about two hours last night after a noxious odor was reported near the main TSA checkpoint. It has now reopened, but we're still awaiting word on the cause. About ten TSA workers became ill at about 6 p.m., according to state Department of Transportation spokesman Dan Meisenzahl. He adds that they "experienced dizziness, nausea, headache and throwing up and a chemical taste in their mouth." They were taken to Wilcox Hospital as a precaution.

This just in... hiring slowed in October as employers faced more uncertainty over future economic growth.The Labor Department says the economy added 80,000 jobs last month, the fewest in four months and below September's revised total of 158,000. The unemployment rate dipped to 9 percent. Businesses added 104,000 jobs, below September's total. Government shed 24,000 jobs.
