IBEW waiting on strike authorization

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A possible strike looms from Hawaiian Telcom.

According to the IBEW website, the union says it is waiting for a strike approval from the international office and it would be holding a meeting with the strike captains.

An informational workshop is scheduled for Thursday night to provide support services in the event of a work stoppage.

The union says the company has not issued an official response to the union's last, best and final offer.

Until notified, employees are told to report to work as usual.
