KANEOHE (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police have opened an arson investigation after fire broke out at the Joyful Gardens Fine Asian Cuisine early Monday morning in Kaneohe.
Firefighters got the call at 1:28 a.m., but the fire was extinguished by nearly two dozens sprinkler heads when HFD arrived on scene.
The strong smell of gasoline fills the air inside and out of the restaurant located at the Windward City Shopping Center off Kaneohe Bay Drive.
Evidence of plastic gasoline spouts and caps from portable gas cans were also found at the scene.
HFD officials say damage estimates are $20,000 to the contents and $20,000 to the building.
