No tsunami threat to Hawaii after 6.0M quake near Fiji

FIJI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A strong earthquake shook an area off the coast of Fiji, but was not strong enough to generate a tsunami threat to Hawaii.

The quake was measured at a magnitude 6.0, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake happened at 2:15 p.m. HST, about 129 miles southeast of Lambasa, Vanua Levu, Fiji.
