Salvation Army Accepting Applications For Angel Tree Program

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – With the holiday season fast approaching, many will be in need of assistance from various outreach groups. The Salvation Army is one of those, now accepting applications for children under 14, and senior citizens wanting Christmas gifts.

Interested applicants can get in touch with various salvation army locations on Oahu to find out how to apply. Many of the families in need are usually assisted via the "Angel Tree Program". Applications will be accepted through early November. Applicants must have photo identifications for themselves and their children (to help verify age), a verification of income and a proof of address. Applications will be welcomed at these following locations:

Christmas trees will be placed a various local malls with "angel tags." The public is given an opportunity to choose an "angel tag" from the tree, helping to fulfill a special Christmas request by the applicant.
