LEXINGTON, Ky. (HawaiiNewsNow) - The latest AVCA Coaches Poll was released Monday with the University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team moving up one spot to No.7. It is the highest AVCA ranking of the season for UH.
Hawaii is currently 21-1 overall and first in the Western Athletic Conference at 9-0.
The ranking comes after a pair of victories over Notre Dame on Monday and Tuesday, and sweeps of Utah State and Idaho on Friday and Sunday, respectively. In the poll, only Northern Iowa and San Diego have more wins than the Rainbow Wahine.
Nebraska (17-1) is ranked No. 1 having jumped three spots from last week's poll.
Of UH's 2011 opponents, UCLA retained its No.6 ranking, Pepperdine dropped one spot to No.18, and Ohio State remained at No.23.
The Rainbow Wahine continue WAC competition this week on the road, playing San Jose State on Tuesday, Fresno State on Thursday, and Nevada on Saturday.
