Waikiki spa offers pumpkin facial this autumn

WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Halloween's right around the corner, and one Waikiki spa has a new treatment themed just for the season. SpaHalekulani has a facial made out of the orange gourd. It's called a Pumpkin Apple Peel Facial and it's supposed to diminish acne and wrinkles, making you look younger.

According to Spa Director Lena Mossman, it's a results-oriented peel perfect for all skin types. "With a natural blend of pumpkin extract and malic acid (from apples), this facial addresses the appearance of acne, hyper-pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. It also normalizes oil production, reducing the appearance of pore size, and protecting the skin from free radical damage," describes Mossman.

The Pumpkin Apple Peel Facial begins with the spa's signature foot pounding ritual, done while you relax and sip tea. During the facial, a pumpkin-infused face and hand massage promise to transcend guests to relaxation, while the powerful peel works its magic.

Mossman says, "What is so wonderful is the peel itself. It's filled with vital nutrients, vitamin A, which is known for all antioxidant properties. What is so special is that it has the ability to renew cells, which is what people are looking for- that young, youthful glow."

The experience ends with tea and cookies. It's on the SpaHalekulani menu through the end of November for $190.  Visit www.halekulani.com
